I am extremely excited to announce the end of my time at my current job. I suppose I can’t announce the name of my employer as I still have to get through Friday before I am officially gone.
Why have I made the decision to quit now? Well, Monday starts the new semester and my parents, being ever surprising, have decided to pay for my classes this semester. I’m trying to talk them into paying for some summer classes as well as the fall at the moment (so I don’t have to take out loans until I transfer to a university from my community college). Also, I have finally paid off all my bills. All I have now are my car payments, car insurance, and cell phone. Of course I still have things like groceries, gas, and whatever my cat needs as well but I’ve completely paid off all my credit cards! It only took me 2 years (
) but I’m really excited. I also have quite a bit of money saved up so even if I don’t find a new job right away (though prospects are looking good at the moment), I can live off what I’ve saved for at least a month. Woo!
So, goodbye Southern Belle. Goodbye annoyingly incompetent coworkers. さようなら!

Woo hoo! Congrats, kid — on bouncing from the job, being debt free and also getting the bonus from the ‘rents. Hope all is well.
Comment by The Brooklyn Boy 10 January 2008 @ 6.42 pmCongrats on paying of the debt & quiting your job~!! I’m in the process of paying off my credit cards. I just started getting serious with it a few months back so I’m giving myself two years to do so. It must be such a huge relief!! ^_________^ I can’t wait until I get there.
Comment by Jenn~ 10 January 2008 @ 7.49 pmOooh, so your parents are going to pay for the college stuff eh.. I hope they agree to do your summer and fall classes, too. Unfortunately, I have to do it all myself but scholarships and financial aid stuff helps a lot. Yay. I have the same bills you do–my car payment, insurance, and cell phone. LOL. Just live with your parents until you’re like 30… it’s free rent and food! Haha.I think thats what I’m doing.
Comment by ♥ K 11 January 2008 @ 2.49 pmCongrats! :D soon you’ll have nothing else to pay! And I’m sure you’ll find an awesome job soon!
The secret is to save up money. That’s my family’s motto. Even though, by normal standarts, none of us has a big salary, we’re much better off than most people. My grandfather spent all his life saving up every small cent he could… and in the end he left me enough money to buy a house in the city, if I wished. We’re talking about a man who made AT THE MOST $500 a month.
Comment by algelic 13 January 2008 @ 8.45 amSOOOO glad to hear your parents being supportive. And 2 years is a really good amount of time to get your CC paid off. For real. And it’s great! It feels great, doesn’t!? XD
I’m so excited for you & your upcoming months!
