There isn’t much to report these days. Gael and I have moved into my grandma’s house with everything except the bed. There’s already a bed in here and nowhere to put it until next week. After that we’ll fetch his bed from the old house.
There’s no wireless here because nothing would work with the damn DSL modem so I have a long cable running from my grandma’s room into here until she returns home & wants to use the internet. So my times online might not be that often, unfortunately.
School started on Tuesday and my classes seem okay. I still haven’t bought my math book, though & I have homework due Thursday.
Today we went to the Renaissance Festival in Maryland. I only took a few pictures but but they were all of flowers and leaves (except for one of me and Gael, lol). After that we went to my favourite Japanese restaurant for dinner. Now we’re chilling and watching TV.
Last, but definitely not least, I got 2 things I ordered from Yes Asia in a few days ago. Unfortunately, the handles broke on one side of the bag today at the Festival…

If you haven’t seen this photo on my Flickr yet, you probably don’t know “the news.”
On 7 August 08, I got married! Here’s the story:
We went to go look at a room for rent then Gael said he had to pay a fee at a court for a traffic case he had a few weeks ago. So, we went driving in the direction of the courthouse but he detoured to the mall. He wouldn’t tell me what we were doing there just kept saying he had a “surprise.” I wasn’t too excited because, generally speaking, his “surprises” are new bottles of wine or something, LOL. So, I’m texting a friend of mine and he walks up to a jewelry store & says, “Wanna buy me a wedding band?” My back of my head got really hot and I felt slightly nauseous. I thought he was joking but I went along with it. I had no clue what was going on until we went to the second store across the hall and he said to me, “You said you wanted to elope so I thought we could do that today.” Quelle surprise!
Apparently in the county he lives in, you can’t elope in the court so he had to find a “civil celebrant” and get married at his house. We had an appointment so we picked out some rings, drove to the courts to get the necessary papers, then drove to the guy’s house. He was a retired colonel in the army and his house had surround- sound music playing. We said our vows then he took a Polaroid picture of us.
On the way home I called my mom and she about died. Later she told me when she called my step dad and told him, some guy shouted in the background, “YOU JUST SAVED YOURSELF 20 GRAND, MAN!”
So, we’re busy busy moving (back) into my grandma’s from his dad’s house. It’ll be sweet cause she’s only going to charge us utilities (about $100 USD a month) & Mouse can run around outside and lose some weight
I’ll be busy with the move and getting ready for a party to celebrate my marriage in late September/ early October so I might not be on very much for a while. Who knows, though!

Woohoo! Today marks 1 year for me and Gael. I have to say, this couldn’t make me happier. Before him, I had one boyfriend that broke my heart and then another. Then another. After that I just stopped having “exclusive” relationships and “dated around”. When things got too heavy or intense I broke it off.
I’m sure those of you who have been reading me since last summer remember how dramatic everything was (weren’t a reader then? curious? just click on the calendar & go back to my entries from this time last year.) and what a mess I was.
I have to say, it was all worth it. Through all the rough spots, through all my nuttiess, through it all Gael has stayed with me. I have to give him quite a bit of credit because I’m sure I haven’t always been the easiest person to deal with (though he’s not, either! ♥) yet he’s stayed. I guess I’d have to call that love. Amazing, isn’t it?
Updates on our little life we’re slowly building together?
Either this weekend or the next we’re moving in together. Permanently without constant harassment from people who don’t approve. Though we’ll have to start paying rent, it’ll make both our lives a lot easier.
Our plans of moving to Richmond (Virginia) at the end of the year are becoming more concrete. Not completely yet but I’m aiming for November to have nearly everything figured out.
Aw, actually, that’s it! I thought maybe there was more but not really.
So! Here’s to love! I’m still rather cynical but not as cynical as I used to be.
