A less controversial post today!
Maybe make you feel less uncomfortable by talking about my Jew-yness and fear of calories
I am, essentially speaking, 1/2 Jewish. This is purely ethnic, though- I was raised Episcopalian
Apparently I’m pretty damn Jewish, though ’cause all my life I’ve hated pork (though I have to admit I
pepperoni pizza!) and apparently I remind family members of my very Jewish great- grandmother. I also prefer to buy kosher goods but I’ve never been able to explain why… Also, Jewish friends from the time I was a kid up to present times have dubbed me their “honorary Jewish” friend
& before my nose job (partially reconstructive for my cleft & partially cosmetic) I had a giant Jew + Native American bump on my nose. Thank god that’s gone!
(Also, note the frizzy brown hair to stereotype, LOL)
Anyways
So today I was doing some grocery shopping and there’s a giant Jewish section there (there’s a pretty big Jewish community in Northern Virginia) & I was delighted to find they had some macaroons on sale! Add to this, they’re kosher & banana split- flavoured!

*Insert holy music playing with sun through clouds here*
The downside? 110 calories per serving. A serving is 2 pieces
EPIC FAIL
Because of my innate fear of getting fat, I’ve limited myself to 2 a day. At this rate, they’ll last until after Passover!
Oh well, at least I won’t gain a 100 pounds and die inside, right?

Hehe, so you think Religion is in your genes? I get the ethnicity part though — stereotypely Jews have big noses and dark hair etc. Weird, Christians don’t have that. Although, I guess I would be a northerner then and we do have some special looks too :D I don’t think pork is that good for you anyways, so I don’t think you’re missing out, as long as you’re having something else instead, meat-wise. I’ll have to go look myself in the mirror now and compare myself to Samis! You’re part Native American too?
Comment by Minna 29 March 2009 @ 3.42 pmCLEARLY you need to stop watching America’s Next Topmodel. You find banana macaroons and you *limit* yourself to two a day? Girl, you brainwashed! Eat up!
