Time for another blog post already?! I thought I’d do a little picture post about Sakura Matsuri in Washington, DC on 4 April 2009. I have to say, it was so incredibly crowded, it was barely any fun. I had to push my way to tables to see what the vendors had and waited in line for nearly an hour for lunch!
After we spent several hours there, we went to the Tidal Basin to look at the Japanese cherry blossom trees, given to the US government from the Japanese government in the 1910s. I have to say, I hate tourists. Never mind that they were taking entire branches from the trees, never mind that they were blocking entire walkways, never mind that nearly every time I tried to take a picture some Indian guy would spot me, run into my frame and take a picture, ruining mine. Needless to say, while it was nice, Andy & I plan to go back later this week sans annoying-as-fuck tourists
If you’ve read my LiveJournal then you know exactly how Valentine’s Day went (if you don’t have an LJ, I can email it to you).
Basically, it was shit. Andy was sick and I was dizzy all day. He refused to celebrate at all because he thinks the holiday is stupid. I think it is, too in that a lot of girls expect gifts and all that crap. I really, really wanted a card, though. It means a lot to me when someone gives me a card, letting me know in writing exactly how they feel. He’s given me cards before for Valentine’s Day (& other days) so I was really confused as to why, suddenly now, he was refusing. Not only did I not receive a card, he basically ignored me all day playing video games. Suffice to say, I was very unhappy with him. I didn’t get why he was being so stubborn.
The yesterday (the 15th) he came home from work with a surprise and an apology.

Right now I’m laying in bed, a little dizzy because it’s past 10.30am & I still have not eaten breakfast & Andy is sleeping next to me. He was supposed to work today but has a really upset stomach. Poor baby!
Today I have many errands to run. Gotta go by the bank to deposit my paycheck (work refuses to offer direct deposit
), go by Penn Camera to pick up a roll of 120 film, go by Target to pick up a roll of 35mm that Andy dropped off… There are other things to do but I can’t remember at the moment.
I honestly don’t think I’m doing anything tonight
Andy thinks Valentine’s Day is stupid and refuses to celebrate. It’s our first married Valentines! He has to!
